All of our FlexNStretch® Packs are fully curbside recyclable, and our corrugated board is made from recycled content. Our packaging is ROHS compliant and contains no hazardous substances or materials.
FlexNStretch® Packs are comprised of corrugated fiber board and elastic film. The liner board combination can vary but is typically a Mullen test board to provide strength and rigidity to the structure.
Our film is a proprietary, nonabrasive blend that is designed to provide sufficient protection while not marring the surface of the product.

Yes! If you have a product that requires a custom design, we can work with you to develop a package for your specific product or application. Our packaging designers will create a package to your requirements that will safely and efficiently ship your product. We can also test to ITSA or ASTM standards if required.
ADE, Inc. takes pride in its ability to design unique packaging solutions that meet the specific needs of either a single customer or a single fragile product that's shipped by many customers in a common market. In either case, ADE's design department uses a disciplined, interactive approach that includes design engineers, salespeople and, most important, the customer, who is both the source and final judge of all the design efforts.
DESIGN PROCESS
The Design process starts with information regarding the Customer's needs and objectives. While product protection needs are recognized as paramount, our design process also explicitly considers all the secondary needs that can play a major role in the acceptability of a package such as accommodating products of different sizes, the physical size of the package, which effects shipping costs, storage space requirements, re-usability, disposability, attractiveness, package unit cost and whatever else might be of concern.
DESIGN PLAN
From the customer supplied information a Design Plan is created, reviewed and implanted. The end result is an actual package that will be reviewed and tested by either ADE or ADE and the Customer. If necessary, further modifications are created and tested until the Customer is satisfied that their objectives have been met.
TESTING
ADE has the capability to produce package samples from any of our product groups that fully replicate, from a performance standpoint, the actual manufactured package. Thus test results from samples can be used as a reliable standard for commercial production. ADE has a Certified Test Lab and has all of it’s packaging engineers ISTA trained and certified. For the Electronics Market, ADE has the ability to assure compliance with current ESD requirements. ADE has built its reputation on its willingness to tackle difficult packaging problems and its willingness to do so, regardless of the quantity! For us, any packaging problem that is solved is a piece of useful and profitable knowledge.
Yes! With over 45 years of experience in the packaging industry ADE has the knowledge to help your company streamline its packaging program. ADE has developed successful packaging programs for many companies throughout the years and stands ready to assist your company in developing its own.
The process starts with a full analysis of the current packaging program. From the materials used to the time spent packaging a product no detail is over looked. The analysis will uncover hidden ways in which your company can save time and money by improving its packaging program.
ADE will examine the ease of use of your current packaging and determine if there is a simpler method. Often times an employee spends too much time handling a product in order to prepare it for shipping, this wastes valuable time and money that could be better spent in other areas of a company.
ADE will examine the performance of your current packaging. With an ISTA certified lab and ISTA certified professionals your packaging will be put through industry standard tests to determine the quality of the performance and whether your product requires more protection or possibly less.
ADE will also examine often overlooked areas of packaging programs such as the amount of warehouse space needed to store current packaging materials. Also the number of SKU's needed to accommodate your products, can either of these be reduced? Also, customer perception, how does your packaging represent your company and its objectives?
POINTS OF ANALYSIS
ADE can provide your company with expert analysis of your packaging methods and materials and assist you in the direction to save time and money by examining your entire packaging program. Specific points of analysis:
- Ease and efficiency of current packaging method
- Protective performance of current packaging method
- Customer perception of current packaging method
- Amount of allocated warehouse space needed to house current packaging materials
- Reusable vs. one time use packaging
- Number of different SKU's of packaging materials.
Yes! Since we develop, test and manufacture all of our packaging products in house we also have a certified test lab to conduct all of our package performance testing. We can provide testing either as part of a development project or as a standalone service for you to validate your current or prospective packaging solution. All of our packaging engineers are ITSA certified to conduct testing procedures and provide documentation of the results. Based on the results, we can provide you with recommendations as to if you need more protection or if you have the right amount for your product to ship safely.
REASONS FOR TESTING
Many companies fail to fully realize the true value in packaging and the benefits and cost savings that can be found in having the correct type of protection when shipping fragile or valuable products. Here are a few of the reasons to test your packaging:
- Validation of level of protection
- Correct amount of packaging as to not overspend on excess materials
- Analyze potential customer perception of current packaging after transit
- Consider alternative packaging to save money or provide better protection
- Determine potential points of failure before committing to new packaging
Yes! We design, test and stock boxes for all of our standard FlexNStretch® packs. But we can also create a custom box for your specific product or application. We have a lot of experience with shipping products and keeping them safe, let us help you find the right box for your needs. Our packaging engineers will custom build a box that is constructed well enough to protect but not so much that you are overpaying with a “better safe than sorry” option.

Yes! ADE maintains a large manufacturing and warehousing operation which allows us the ability to offer contract packaging and warehousing of your packaging. Once you put in a commitment of a blanket order, we will manufacture the entire order allowing you to take advantage of large volume discounts. However, you do not need to receive the entire order at once, we can maintain the inventory for you releasing in smaller quantities as needed. This will save you valuable warehouse space and keep overhead to a minimum. You may also have several locations that may require different amounts of packaging based on daily usage. We can work with you to create a release schedule and maintain the inventory, alerting you once the stock becomes low, so you can reorder and avoid any chance of downtime due to running out of packaging.
BENEFITS OF WAREHOUSING
Many companies, both large and small, can take advantage of our warehousing and contract packaging program. Here are a few reasons to let us warehouse your packaging:
- Save valuable warehouse space in your facility
- Reduce overhead and raw material costs
- Save money by capitalizing on large volume discounts
- We can maintain the inventory and alert you when to reorder
- Receive packaging in release quantities as needed
For over 45 years, ADE has been committed to design, develop and efficiently produce protective packages and packaging materials. This effort starts with an assurance that after your products have traveled in our packages and are unpacked by your customer, they will be in the condition that you intend them to be in - thus controlling damage costs due to shipping, the single largest factor in total packaging cost savings.
First, we reduce inventory costs by decreasing the number of packs you'll need for different sized products. Related to this, we manufacture packaging that can be stored flat when not in use, allowing you to reduce warehouse space for packaging supplies. This feature, in combination with reduced cube sizes of loaded packs, continues to save you money through lower freight costs. Secondly, you have the opportunity to continue to reduce your original purchase price with the guaranteed reliable re-use that's built into every one of our packs! Satisfaction through total packaging cost reduction is our promise to you.
In 1980 we started delivering on this promise with just one patented packaging material that was designed to protect lightweight, fragile products only. Now, with seven unique packaging technologies, the scope of our promise has expanded. We now produce packages for products as small as micro optics and as large as one hundred pound flat screen televisions. Our products are all available in a wide selection of standard sizes. Also, you will find that we have full capabilities in our state of the art design lab to develop custom packs that meet all the specific needs of your particular products. We can then fully test and confirm the performance levels of these packs in our test lab. We can build and test packs that meet your most demanding requirements. ADE has the capabilities to efficiently produce your order in full compliance with your quality, production and release quantity requirements.
Our goal is a simple one - to become a valued supplier to your company by fulfilling our promise to reduce your total packaging costs and provide complete packaging solutions.
